276 - We're bringing back Unf*ck Your Biz (maybe)

On today's episode I'm giving a behind the scenes look at how I'm deciding if I want to bring back my signature program, Unf*ck Your Biz and what it means for Profit Rx.

For the last two episodes we've been diving into heavy legal topics and this week we're pivoting to discuss some possible changes to my business moving forward. I've journaled a lot on this topic, talked to my business mastermind about it, talked to my team about it, talked to past students about it and normally I wouldn't bring you an idea until it was final, but today I want to give you a peak behind the curtain (just know that nothing I say on today's episode is final final final). After you listen to this episode, head to my Facebook group - (BradensBesties.com) and share your thoughts, I plan to post a survey poll.

To cut to the chase, I think we're going to bring back Unf*ck Your Biz. the course. If you didn't know, Unf*ck Your Biz started out as a framework and program and we created a podcast around the framework and the program to help build the brand. I launched it for the first time in fall 2019 and then again in spring 2020, fall 2020, spring 2021 and then in fall 2021 we launched Profit Rx the first time.

I feel like my friends and my team feel like I'm pivoting all the time so I'm curious what those of you that listen to the podcast or follow me online (I'd love to know so send me a DM @bradenadamdrake).

What I don't want this to sound like is that I'm doing away with Profit Rx, because I'm not. Instead we're looking at ways we can reposition the program. In this past launch in December we had 44 new Profit Rx members. For $100/month the membership got you all the content from inside Unf*ck Your Biz (a $2,000 course) so huge bang for your buck plus everyone get a half hour call with myself or Connie our Client Success Coordinator and an up to 2 hour bookkeeping set-up call with our bookkeeper plus regular check-ins, Voxer office hours, monthly Q&As and more. We are offering more deliverables than I've gotten in programs I've paid over $5,000 for and that's not an exaggeration.

Looking at it, the margins are okay - I'm making profit, but I could be charging a lot more for it. The reason I have reservations for charging more is why would you all want to pay me $5,000 for a program when you could just pay us to do it all for you in the law firm?

If you're a previous student of Unf*ck Your Biz, you may have had some feelings about the Profit Rx price (happy to chat about those feelings). Connie shared with me that as a former graduate she had some feelings too. There was other other value in Unf*ck Your Biz that wasn't in Profit Rx but I digress. Connie shared that she joined the program because she wanted to understand these aspects of running her business and empower herself as CEO. She's a great example because she has three businesses and moved states so now she can do it on her own and doesn't need to hire an attorney every time which shows the value in the long term of knowing how to do all these things for yourself.

The plus and minus here of Profit Rx is we have one core program to sell and the con to it is I think some people are still confused by the time of the program because it includes legal stuff as well which isn't reflected in the title and also people join to form their businesses and then leave, they don't want ongoing support.

So I thought about this and the benefits we had with Unf*ck Your Biz the course, the main one being we were seeing much higher completion and attendance rates as a cohort than as a self-paced membership. I see a lot of people sign up for Profit Rx and I do not like that and I do not take pride in the fact that I make money off people who pay for the program and don't use the program. That's actually how I market my legal subscription - you have the peace of mind of having access to an attorney when you need it, but that's not the goal of Profit Rx.

Because we have people who want ongoing support with the tax and money stuff and people on the flip side who want to do it themselves, I want your feedback on:

We move into a model where we do this to help you set up your business and this to help you maintain it. So we're thinking of taking the set-up portion out of Profit Rx and going back to running Unf*ck Your Biz as a course/group coaching program. So fi you need help with your LLC or S Corp, setting up a system to save and pay your taxes, dealing with back taxes, setting up your bookkeeping, handling independent contractor classification issues, all of that and more we cover inside Profit Rx now but we would move it back to Unf*ck Your Biz your course and launch it a few times a year or you can hire us one-on-one to set it all up for you. I haven't settled on a price, but I can tell you Unf*ck Your Biz will be less than it used to be because now we have a lot of support inside my business which makes it more streamlined so I don't have to do all the client delivery.

We'll keep Profit Rx, but that membership only becomes available after you go through Unf*ck Your Biz or work with us one-on-one to help you do your weekly bookkeeping processes, pay your taxes, and we'll be adding in more on profitability including personal finance to help keep you accountable that your business becomes and stays profitable. If you're a current Profit Rx member, don't worry, you'll still be a Profit Rx member.

We also have our legal subscription and I think we will be renaming that to Legal Rx to help make it more clear that you can join Profit Rx for ongoing financial support and/or you can join Legal Rx for ongoing legal support.

I'm VERY curious what your thoughts are on this. Does this sound more clear?

To recap: We'll have the Unf*ck Your Biz group program. We'll launch it the eight week program, go through it and then you can join Legal Rx and/or Profit Rx for ongoing support.

Send me a DM on Instagram @bradenadamdrake they're always open and I definitely welcome the feedback on what I've shared.

I've also made a waitlist page for Unf*ck Your Biz 3.0 to be the first to find out if we're doing this, when we're launching and how much it will cost. We'll announce it to the waitlist first and sign-ups for the program will be capped so waitlist members will get access to sign up first and we may fill it up from there.

I value my audience's thoughts and feedback so I'd love to hear from you not just on the program but also what you think about podcast episodes like this where I share the ideas that I'm having before they become official.
